Welcome and thank you for your interest in our Shorty Jack Russell Terriers. We are
based in sunny El Paso, Texas. We are exclusive breeders of the smooth-coat, Shorty,
Jack Russell Terrier. All of our EJRTCA/UKC registered puppies are raised and "trained" in
our Texas home experiencing nothing but love and kind handling from several adults and
children.
Our fascination and love for the Shorty Jack Russell Terrier began one day while attending
a Rodeo. As we walked the grounds, we came a cross a small Jack Russell Terrier and it's
owner energetically playing and rough housing in an open field. This dog was not
performing tricks like we have all seen before. No, this dog was an untrained companion
which was intensely focused on outsmarting it's owner. The dog caught our attention
because it seemed to predict was its owner’s next move was going to be. The small dog
was not simply reacting to play.... it was anticipating!! As we and others watched, we
unknowingly began participating in the play by trying to guess what this dog was going to
do next. As the owner playfully pulled, shoved, and grabbed at the dog, the dog jumped,
barked, and cleverly maintained a position of advantage by keeping its body behind the
bent-over at the waist owner as much as possible. As the owner pretended to hide
something, the dog would quickly get within arms reach only to be playfully "beat-up"
again. This owner seemed to enjoy putting the Jack through the many thinking exercises.
We noticed the dog did not appear frustrated, anxious, or stressed by the activity. Rather,
it seemed to be enjoying it much more than its owner.
